It's Casual Friday! Sam and Emma are joined by Heather Digby Parton, contributing writer at Salon.com and proprietor of the blog Hullabaloo, to round up the week in news. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Gaza, respectively, Jim Jordan’s humiliation streak, Israel’s offensives and their rising death tolls, various US agencies, and Apple’s problem with Jon Stewart, before diving into the growing discontent with Israel among Arab countries in the Middle East. Digby then joins as she walks through her reflections on the last week in global politics, tackling the failure of Biden’s immediate response to Israel’s offensive, the potential of a greater regional conflict, and the shortcomings of the Ukraine comparison. Next, Digby, Sam, and Emma tackle the changing opinion on Israel – particularly among younger generations – as well as the right’s unsurprising response to the conflict (virulent Islamophobia) before shifting to the hilarity that is the state of the GOP, including the potential “solutions” to their speakership debacle, intra-party violence, and wrapping up with an assessment of where Trump stands in his various legal battles.

And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma watch Donald Trump attempt to blame someone else for Iran’s nuclear program, Greg from Philly dives into the political shitshow that is British media, Chadwick from Detroit has a little conspiracy to share, and Blake from Detroit discusses freedom of speech for politicians. They also tackle the insane censorship and threatening of pro-Palestine voices, Israel’s complete failure in making the world safer for Jews, and a few updates on the Republican’s speakership debacle, plus, your calls and IMs!
