On today's show:

Trump gives potentially deadly medical advice, tells people to take as-yet unapproved drug hydroxychloroquine for Covid-19: "What have you got to lose?” Doctor describes the potential side effects and dangers of hydroxychloroquine. Trump blocks Fauci from answering question about hydroxychloriquine.

Dr. Mark Alain Déry (@drdery), an infectious disease expert at Access Health Louisiana, joins Sam to discuss the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the Trump administration's response as it continues its spread across the continental US. Déry's experience treating and tracking the virus at Louisiana's largest Medicaid clinic. The difficulties in tracking Covid-19 versus other diseases like HIV. Why we need to shift to antibody testing. The problems caused by the US refusing to adopt world testing standards. The best ways to protect yourself. How human development encroaching on nature contributes to the spread of new viruses.

On the fun half:

A caller expresses cynicism towards electoral campaigns as a tactic for progressive change. John Berman asks trade policy advisor why he's giving medical advice and challenging Fauci. Dr. Drew threatens to sue people for posting clips of his terrible Covid-19 comments. Woman going to church not concerned about Covid-19; "I'm covered in Jesus' blood." Kenneth Copeland preaches away Covid-19 to an empty church. Asked about delay in federal delivery of respirators, Trump tells reporter to "stop asking wise guy questions." Jim Clyburn says new committee will not investigate Trump administration's preparedness or response to Covid-19 during oversight committee investigation. Josh from Chicago provides a counterpoint to the first caller. The Cuomo brothers' conflict of interest.

On today's show:

Chris Hayes and Sam Seder discuss their upstate retreats and how the age of Covid19 is bringing us back to the age of household production, like baking bread. The two explore the absurdity and cruelty of the new PPE market and the commercial entities that are price gouging states while the federal government enables it, and we subsidize it. Hayes and Sam broaden the conversation assessing the myriad of ways the Trump may be using the pandemic as a business opportunity. So what about the Democrats? Where is Democratic leadership demanding accountability and oversight? Hayes and Sam examine the strange duality and tension between expanded unemployment benefits and zero-interest loans to small businesses that keep their staff on board. This tension and failure to small business owners and workers could be explosive, heading into the fall elections.

H Jon Benjamin, the famous comedian and voice actor, joins Sam to discuss his career and what it's like to voice various "drawrings." Sam does his best James Lipton Inside the Actors' Studio and Behind the Music of H Jon Benjamin. Benjamin also gives Sam some advice on how to get back into showbiz. Check out Jon's Instagram fundraising drives here!

And in the Fun Half: Does it matter if Bernie stays in the race? The stunning growth of joblessness in America, Trump says the economic recession is fake and will return to normal levels, the USS Comfort is a publicity stunt, Steve Mnuchin says there's enough oversight for the stimulus, the racial disparity in Covid19 infections, comparing a democratic leadership response on a state level, considering the Biden movement and hypocrisy in politics, helping food service workers with strike demands, plus your calls and IMs!

Author and historian Harvey J. Kaye (@HarveyJKaye) joins Michael Brooks to discuss how our government's past responses to all-encompassing crises can help chart a path forward through the Covid-19 pandemic.

On today's show: Dr. Rishi Desai explains all the ways the Trump White House failed to contain Covid-19.

Author and historian Harvey J. Kaye (@HarveyJKaye) joins Michael Brooks to discuss how our government's past responses to all-encompassing crises can help chart a path forward through the Covid-19 pandemic. The GOP plan to keep workers powerless. The parallels between our current moment and the 1920s, when the economy was said to be "roaring" but was only actually roaring for capital. The contributions of FDR. How to do labor organizing when we are all stuck indoors? How the Farmers' Holiday Association agitated for power in the early 1930s. How down-on-their-luck New Yorkers helped each other survive in an encampment called Camp Thomas Paine. The dangers of not knowing our history.

On the fun half: Trump brags about being #1 on Facebook. Trump concludes press conference by praising Bolsonaro's efforts in Brazil. Asked what laid off workers should do for healthcare, Pence thanks insurance companies. A sidebar on how Jared Kushner got into Harvard. Trump praises Pence's healthcare answer, says he's impressed the VP didn't answer the question for five minutes.

When Matt's video game takes up too much bandwidth, the MR crew accidentally broadcasts an episode of the Ken, Ken & Ken Show, the Stoughton area Number#1 Conservative, Constitutional, Anti PC, Freedom loving morning show with Scotso, the Deuce, The New Dork, and Stinky Bren Bren!

On today's show: Mitch McConnell says impeachment distracted Congress from Covid-19, compliments Tom Cotton for being first Senator to criticize Chinese. Trump says impeachment probably distracted WH efforts to combat Covid-19.

Ryan Grim (@ryangrim), a lib reporter from The Intercept, joins the KKK crew for a free exchange of ideas. If Dr. Anthony Fauci isn't talking to Hillary, why won't he turn over his phone records? Why don't libs want women like Kelly Loeffler to make money in the stock market? If "price gouging" by companies during a pandemic is bad, why is wage gouging by workers AOK?

Rich Lowry says Trump has silenced any "just the flu" arguments. Tuesday: Trump says it's never enough for some governors (re: Cuomo and ventilators). Sunday: Trump gives helpful career advice to reporter, says media should be nice to White House. Ben Shapiro says workers striking for safer conditions is the same thing as price gouging for protective equipment. Gorka says he had Covid-19 in January. James O'Keefe gets tested, says media is overblowing Covid-19 and it's just the flu. Christian Evangelist preacher, friend of arrested pastor, says he will hold Woodstock style Easter service. Call: Anthony from San Juan. My Pillow CEO says Trump is turning liberals because of Covid-19 efforts, calls critics of WH press conference "evil.” A call from Hunter Biden.

Diamond & Silk suggest death numbers are being inflated to harm Trump's popularity.

Professor of Law and Political Science Rick Hasen (@RickHasen) joins Sam to discuss his new book, Election Meltdown: Dirty Tricks, Distrust, and the Threat to American Democracy as well as the impact of Covid-19 on the 2020 general election and remaining primaries. As the 2020 presidential campaign begins to take shape, there is widespread distrust of the fairness and accuracy of American elections on both sides of the aisle. Factors driving this include voter suppression tactics (particularly on the part of Republicabs), pockets of incompetence in election administration (often in large cities controlled by Democrats), and foreign and domestic misinformation campaigns. Hasen goes over how these currents have manifested in recent years and offers some ideas for reforms that might restore people's faith in the US electoral system.

On the fun half:

Governor of Montana Steve Bullock says he needs test kits, Trump says he hasn't heard about testing problems. IMAGE: Number of COVID-19 tests performed per 100K People (as of 3/30). Longtime Trump defender Mike Francesa blows up on air at Trump's Covid-19 failures. My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell gives "dear leader" appreciation speech about Donald Trump at WH press briefing. A caller on the negative political fallout of the crisis. Friday: Evangelical pastor says he will continue services because he has machines that can instantly kill any virus. Sunday: Trump says landlords will "take it easy" for tenants. Workers walk off the job at the Staten Island Amazon warehouse to demand safer conditions. Friday: Union rep tells construction workers they're free to go, "let's look out for each other." Biden says M4A would not help alleviate this crisis, says Covid-19 has not changed his stance on single payer. Sunday: Asked about his statements on governors needs, Trump denies prior statement, says journalists should be nice. A plug for genstrike.org, which is seeking to network a national movement of rent, debt and labor strikes.

On today's show: Author Adam Cohen joins Sam to discuss his new book, Supreme Inequality: The Supreme Court's Fifty-Year Battle for a More Unjust AmericaIn 1969, President Richard Nixon launched a reactionary attack on the Supreme Court, appointing conservative judges and dismantling the liberal majority that had, under Chief Justice Earl Warren, made landmark decisions in favor of the rights of the poor and racial minorities. Cohen traces the radical rightward swing of the courts that continues to this day, and makes prescriptions for what Democrats should (but have yet to) do to reverse it. Only when Democrats let go of the idea that the courts should be apolitical will they be able to effectively fight back.

On the fun half: Judge Jeanine is drunk on her show. Larry Kudlow asked why he said the virus was contained last month: "I'm as good as the facts are." Biden says it's "too harsh" to say Trump has blood on his hands. Dr. Anthony Fauci says we could see 100k-200k Covid-19 related deaths. Trump says government response will have been a success if only 200k people die from Covid-19. Mindy tells of her Twitter ban; follow her new account at @MaydayMindy1. Asked why GOP-led Florida got all requested supplies and Dem-led states have not, Trump says governors are happy. Trump attacks a CNN reporter for asking about when he said he wants Democratic governors to be more “appreciative.” DECEMBER 4: Constitutional law scholar during impeachment lays out why withholding aid is impeachable. Trump suggests maybe  NY hospital workers are stealing masks. Kowalski on why he thinks Trump will get re-elected. What the heck is up with Cliff? Fox & Friends mailbag question asks Trump about "special interests" in stimulus packages, Trump says Democrats are trying to make "levels of voting" such that Repulicans never win another election.

On today's show:

Nomiki Konst (@NomikiKonst), of The Nomiki Show, joins Sam to discuss the political and economic aspects of the Covid-19 crisis. Covid's impact on small businesses. Trump downplays New York's ventilator needs on Hannity. Ainsley Earhardt questions if NY really needs that many ventilators, says now is not the time for Cuomo to play the blame game. Is Trump saving the federal government's supply of ventilators for swing states? AOC slams the Senate's corporate bailout bill on house floor. The privatization that goes on under disaster capitalism. Will New York's Democratic primary be moved back or eliminated? Jamie returns for a discussion of former staffer Tara Reade's new sexual assault allegation against Biden.

On the fun half: Film Guy Matthew stops by to recommend some films: Zero Mostel plays a bad guy in Elia Kazan's 1950 noir "Panic in the Streets." Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin star in Zach Braff's 2017 heist comedy "Going In Style." The recently deceased have just one week to choose one memory to keep for eternity in Hirokazu Koreeda's 1998 fantasy-drama "Afterlife." Jeff Bridges stars in John Huston's 1972 neo-noir boxing drama "Fat City." And Candid Camera's 1970 hidden camera style reality film "What Do You Say To A Naked Lady?" provides a window into the casual misogyny of the time.

Trump says nobody could've prepared for this, that he inherited a broken situation, and he doesn't need the Deference Production Act. Trump says "things are being considered" for people with no health insurance, "a lot of different things." 2017: Steve Bannon says Trump's goal is the “deconstruction of the administrative state.” Matt Walsh, Daily Wire Christian-in-Chief, draws false equivalence between auto deaths & Covid-19 mortality projections. Dennis Prager skeptical of quarantine effectiveness, says quarantine should only stay in effect if death toll surpasses flu numbers (30,000 -50,000).

David Dayen, the Executive Editor at The American Prospect, joins Sam to discuss the Senate stimulus package and the "money bazooka" it aims directly to large corporations and CEOs. Sam and Dayen break down how the bailout will work for industries like the airlines and workers. Dayen explains the absurdity of Democrats means-testing the one time $1200 lump sum, the complicated unemployment insurance expansion, and why the census delivery might be the best means to deliver aid to Americans. Dayen then describes how the Fed's leveraged lending will work and why the Democrats' oversight board will be ineffective, and it will create more significant wealth disparities.

And in the Fun Half: Michael and Sam critique the Senate bailout from the left, Bernie Sanders rails against GOP senators who are "concerned" about unemployment insurance payments, Hannity can't decide how to approach the bailout, Trump says the media wants everyone to suffer through Covid19, plus your IMs!

The superior measures Denmark and South Korea are taking. Trump annoyed with governors criticizing his inaction: "it's a two-way street.” Boeing CEO David Calhoun on Fox Business: "We have other options" if government wants to condition bailout on getting a share in the company. Brit Hume supposes people are mad about Trump's Covid-19 response because we're polarized, which makes everyone mad about everything.

On the fun half: What could Biden do to appeal to Bernie supporters? Joe Biden flubs Covid-19 response statement on The View: "the cure will be worse than the problem." Bernie on MSNBC says that bailouts need to be done in a way that protects working people. Caller asks why he should vote for Biden when the Dems have been screwing him over for decades. Michael makes the case for the progressive left boycotting the election until certain demands are met. Trump says reopening country on Easter would be beautiful. Fauci's reaction when Trump says "deep state department."  Trump press secretary not sure if task force was informed about Trump's Easter Sunday decision. A caller shares his firsthand account of the differences between the US and South Korea's Covid-19 response. Texas Lt.
