The historic origins of the India-China border dispute going back to colonial times and followed by the Cold War. How the US-China conflict has affected India's relationship with the US. US efforts to keep both India and Pakistan as strategic allies in the region, particularly in the post-9/11 era as the US has sought hegemony in the Middle East. The differences between the Chinese and US governments in how they approach foreign policy. The weak criticisms offered by India's opposition parties on Modi's aggression towards China.
