It's Hump Day! And the MR Crew discuss the news of the day before the long weekend. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on calls for Biden to step aside, the White House’s PR blitz to overcome those calls, Trump’s various legal woes, new FDA regulations, more State Department resignations, Israel’s massive land theft in the West Bank, climate change, and the FTC takedown of a Mattress Firm merger, also parsing through recent calls from sitting Congresspeople for Biden to step aside as Democratic candidate for President and the White House’s reactions. After parsing through some additional context for the slew of Biden-related polling and discussions, including leaks from the New York Times, they dive deep into the idea of a Kamala Harris candidacy and why she might be the only real choice to pick up Biden’s failing campaign. They also look at the recent statement from en-masse Stat Department resignees over US culpability in Gaza, before wrapping up with the insane developments around Israel’s ongoing land theft in the West Bank under Smotrich.
